The first Formation House of the Pallottines in Zambia was blessed and Inaugurated on 05 April 2010. Emeritus Archbishop of Lusaka, Most Rev. Medardo Joseph Mazomwe presided over the Holy Eucharistic Celebration and Blessed the House. Very Rev. Fr. Fritz Kretz, Rector General inaugurated the House. In his homely Fr. Rector General spoke of the Charism of Pallotti and the relevance of Pallottine presence in Zambia and other parts of Africa. Very Rev. Fr. Augustine Varikakal, Provincial Rector in his vote of thanks narrated the brief history of the Pallottines in Zambia and thanked all those who are instrumental to build up the mission in Zambia. Fr. Provincial thanked Lusaka Archdiocese and particularly Emeritus Archbishop Most Rev. Meardo J. Mazomwe for inviting the Pallottines to Zambia. In his speech Archbishop Mazomwe appreciated the contributions of the Pallottines to the Church in Zambia and said that the decision to start a Pallottine Formation House will encourage more vocations and hasten Evangelization in Zambia. Many Priests, Religious and Laypeople participated in the Blessing Ceremony. There was commendable cooperation from the Parishioners of Holy Family Parish, Mandevu and the Syro Malabar Catholic Community in Lusaka. Fr. Shaji Mathew welcomed the guest at the beginning of the Holy Mass and Fr. Sijoy Thomas gave the Vote of Thanks. |
